20 minutes give or take. There seems to be a lot of different views on what makes a sketch...

Did you use SAI for this? Because, I've been thinking of getting SAI since I only have Adobe Photoshop 7.0 >_____>

Huh? ... Lesse, Sazh: Pilot coat, pants, a white shirt, boots and gloves. Nothing out of what you'd expect... Snow: A bandanna, trench coat, zippered shirt, baggy pants, what appears to be some kinda scarf, big shoes and gloves. Okay, maybe they put a little too much of an effort into getting his personality across through his clothes, I'll give you that... Lightning: Military coat and cape, zippered turtleneck crop top, one black sleeve, mini-skirt, knee-high boots and gloves. If it wasn't for the mini-skirt, I'd say she was in full-uniform... Hope: Coat, scarf, knee-pants, gloves and shoes. By far the most every-day looking one, if you ask me... Vanille: A top, a skirt, a fur sash, a pair of boots and LOTS of accessories. The accessories might be a bit much, but since her design is inspired by the Namibian Himba women, I guess it's justified... Yun Fang: Some kinda sari, a tank top, some accessories and open-toed boots. Her clothes look forgein, kinda like Vanille's, but that's understandable since, y'know, they both come from Gran Pulse.

All in all, I have a hard time seeing how you think the characters belong in a fashion show. To me, the clothes are what clothes have always been to me: A way to get a quick picture of what kinda person it is that's wearing them... As for the world, well, every FF takes place in a new world with new themes and new designs. If you specifically don't like this kinda cyberish (personally, I'd say it's more magi-techish) design, I guess you were just out of luck as far as this game goes. Finally, all that does not make a game bad. It just makes it bad according to you. (Next time, don't state your opinion as if it was a fact. The simple inclusion of a short "imo" is enough to prevent that.)

Darling, I just want you to know; life is a black, sucking, vortex of infinite anguish and dispair, filled with brief moments of false hope and empty joy, should you ever see the light at the end of the tunnel, it's just the headlight of an oncoming train, and all through this suffering you'll be dragged inevitably closer to final, absolute, and eternal death... This however doesn't mean that life completely lacks positivity, it just means that it positively stinks.

I love final fantasy, but in my opinion, the game face planted with tranformering robot summons and lame mary-sue characters. also the fact that there are only humans, that was a lame thing to do.

I have quite the open mind so I didn't care much that the summons and the fal'cie were robotic. I just think it's interesting to see S-E experiment and attempt to reinnovate what they already have... As for the cast being Mary Sue characters... Well, I'd actually prefer it if you first explained what parts of them you considered to be Mary Sue-ish before I criticize you for thinking that. Y'know, so that I don't make an ass out of myself and/or argue against something that I actually agree with you upon... However, I fully agree with you on the all-human cast thingy. When I buy an FF game, I wants me Moogles, Gilgamesh, and some sort of non-human creature. And when I say I want them, I mean I want them as something else than thematically named online stores.

Roses are red, violets are blue. At least, that's what they say, but it just isn't true!
Roses ARE red, and apples are too, but violets are violet, violets aren't blue.
An orange is orange, but Greenland's not green,
a pinky's not pink, so what does it mean?
To call something "blue" when it's not, you defile it!
But, oh, what the heck, it's hard to rhyme "violet".

this is not such a big deal dude, I just didn't like the game. maybe I of got my hopes up thinking that the makers would kind of grow up a little and maybe have some in depth characters and a story that didn't resemble something from my 7th grade notebook. also, it was not the fact that the summons were robotic that bothered me, it was because they tranformed into cars and bikes.
oh! and the mary sue thing, I take that back. what I meant was that I found the characters have over used archtypes like innocent girl and bad boy (exept for Sazh, I like him)

I actually share your sentiment on this part. Sure, I tend to throttle any expectations that arises to me (simply because I've learned that expectations tend to just set you up for disappointment) but, yes, I really wouldn't have minded if S-E had grown a spine and gone for something a little less cliché and a little more mature. (That's also part of the reason why I, contrary to what my common sense usually tells me, have quite high expectations on 'Versus FFXIII'... It seems like it won't be a flowers-and-sunshine kinda story, but a lot darker and less clichéy.)

Ah, so it was the Transformers stuff that turned you off? Well, I guess I can sorta sympathize with that, too. Odin transforming into a horse I had no probs with. And Bahamut becoming some kinda glider I also didn't object to. Neither did I think it was completely irrational that Alexander turned into a fortress. After all, those three sorta have their own themes going, each corresponding to what they turned into... The rest of the summons' Gestalt forms, however, I pretty much chose to ignore...

Ah... Well, I understand you on that point, too... Lightning: Explicitly Cloud Strife's second (or umpteenth) coming. Snow: The gentle giant/loveable rogue/rebel. Hope: Whiney, vengeance obsessed teen. Vanille: The genki girl... Sazh and Fang I did, however, like pretty much. Sazh because he's the humanizing factor, amongst other things; and Fang because I cannot recall having seen a girl like her in a JRPG in a very, very long time.

It's a shame they had to start over when the PS3 came, they had to use an old engine and it ended up in a very linear and compressed game...

The look? What parts of the looks are you talking about?

And the characters actually have nice personalities, save for some artifacts in their dialogues due to aforementioned problems.

they just seem too cute and perfect. they look as though they belong in a fashion show rather than a video game. I know final fantasy is known for its complicated costumes, but they took it too far. so ya...characters= too perfect, world= too cyberish. but this is a REALLY good drawing.
